Housed in the Historic Jail, The Charlotte County Archives’ rich and varied collection reflects the diversity, experience, and achievement of Charlotte County people. The Child Migrants Trust was established in 1987 by Margaret Humphreys CBE, OAM; a Nottinghamshire Social Worker. It addresses the issues surrounding the deportation of children from Britain. In the post-war period, child migrants as young as three were shipped to Canada, New Zealand, the former Rhodesia and Australia, a practice that continued as late as 1970.

This website provides much information about mariners from Atlantic Canada. One of the projects completed by the MHA was the Atlantic Shipping Project "Ships and Seafarers of Atlantic Canada" which studied, documented and explained the rise and fall of Atlantic Canadian shipping in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Ports selected for study were St. John's, Newfoundland, (which was the sole port of registry for the island); Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (also the sole port for the province); Halifax, Sydney, Yarmouth, Windsor and Pictou, Nova Scotia; Saint John, Richibucto and Miramichi, New Brunswick.

Following the establishment of the modern Irish state in 1922, existing agencies continued to function until the enactment of the National Archives Act, 1986, which transferred their functions and holdings to the newly established National Archives. Under this legislation, records of Government Departments and their agencies are transferred to the National Archives when they are 30 years old.

Approximately 30,000 children spent at least some of their childhood in the Orphan Homes of Scotland, a name changed in 1958 to Quarriers Homes. Each child's entry to and departure from the Homes was recorded as was basic information about the family's circumstances.

Benjamin Birdsall came to New Brunswick in 1783. The Birdsall Family website has entries for a lot of the family, including back to the roots in Yorkshire England. Most of these entries are from the Birdsall Family book but there are also other stories.

To quote the website "The Drouin Collection Records is a collection of parish registers (baptisms, burials and marriages). This massive collection contains, among other things, the entirety of Quebec’s civil registry from 1621 to the 1940s." These records also cover parts of New Brunswick and other parts of French Acadia. The records are available in English and in French. The site itself is paid service but some records are available for free.

The Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council/Regional Council 15 Archives in Sackville, NB is mandated to collect, preserve, and provide access to the records of the Maritime, Gaspé, and Bermuda regions of the The United Church of Canada. We also have pre-1925 records of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational congregations in the Maritimes and Gaspé which joined The United Church of Canada in 1925.

National Society United States Daughters of 1812 The United States Daughters of 1812 is a non-profit women's service organization for descendants of patriots who aided the American cause in the War of 1812.

Seamen's Protection Certificate Register Database. A database of over 31,000 certificates granted to US sailors in Massachusetts and Connecticut between 1796 and 1871. The purpose of these Certificates were to prevent impressment of American citizens into the British Navy. Many of these sailors were born in British Colonies but had taken out U.S. citizenship.
